DescriptionIn the early 1900s a federal irrigation project attracted homesteaders to this fertile desert south of the Columbia River. Boardman Marina Park, at N. Main Street and Marine Drive, has a sailboarding and swimming beach, a campground and 3 miles of trails. The river tug Capt. Al James is exhibited in a small park farther east on Marine Drive N.E. A kiosk offers information about the boat, the town and the Columbia and Snake rivers as transportation corridors.
