DescriptionLocated in the heart of the Muskoka Lakes region and at the 45th parallel, a highway sign in Bracebridge says “halfway to the North Pole,” meaning halfway between the equator and the North Pole. The town overlooks Bracebridge Falls and both branches of the Muskoka River; more than 20 waterfalls are in the area.
The area's agricultural bounty is showcased at a farmers market that operates Saturdays from June through October. Winter outdoor activities abound, with fine snowmobiling, skating, and cross-country and Nordic skiing. Summer recreation includes boating, golfing, swimming, fishing and hiking.
