DescriptionDennis, on SR 6A almost at the midpoint of the north shore of Cape Cod, is the site of graceful old homes, spacious summer residences, artists' studios and the famed Cape Playhouse. The method of cultivating cranberries in bogs originated in Dennis; commercial salt extraction from sea water was initiated in East Dennis in the late 18th century.
