DescriptionThe rich prairie soil surrounding Eunice enticed the early Acadians to settle in the area in 1894. The Acadian influence can still be seen in the historic buildings around town. Cajun organizations preserve Acadian heritage and provide educational programming about the French/Cajun language.
The Rendez Vous des Cajuns , held every Saturday night at the Liberty Center for the Performing Arts, next door to the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, features a 2-hour live broadcast of Cajun and zydeco music.
