DescriptionRaymond was founded in 1904 at the head of navigation on the Willapa River. With two railroads serving the tidewater site, the local logging industry boomed. Although riverfront industrial sites are largely a thing of the past, forest products remain an economic mainstay.
Along US 101 and SR 6 approaching Raymond is the Wildlife Heritage Sculpture Corridor, featuring cast iron representations of local wildlife. A 5-mile portion of the 56-mile-long Willapa River Trail follows a former railroad right-of-way from Raymond to South Bend.
