AAA Inspector Notes
On the wooded shore of Penn Cove, this 1907 historic inn offers a variety of rustic, quaint accommodations, including cabins, lodge rooms and spacious rooms in an annex building overlooking a lagoon. The original lodge structure is made of Madrona logs. While always a peaceful and tranquil visit, spring and summer are especially nice when all the of the flowers and the herb garden are at their finest. Stroll the grounds and find a peaceful seat tucked under the trees for some light reading or maybe even a nap. A summer lunch on the waterside deck offers a great vantage point to watch the moored boats gently rock. Smoke free premises. 29 units, some cabins. 1-2 stories (no elevator), interior/exterior corridors. Bath: some shared.

Pros: The beds in the inn are very comfortable and the view and location is great
Cons: It should be made very clear before booking that you have to share a bathroom and that there is only one shower per gender. The noise in the inn carries due to the age of building. You can hear everything I thought the person next door to me was in my room because the snoring and conversation they had on there phone was clear as a bell. The noise from the kitchen was so loud it had me up everyday about 630. There is no central air and I had to leave my window open all the time. ( windows are not screened). The in room accommodations are antiques I believe but the musty smell is a bit overwhelming. Be warned if you sensitive to smell.

Pros: The beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The room felt like I was in a secluded tree house. Loved the room.
Cons: Not enough staff in the dinning room. The stairs to our rooms were so dangerous! No one to help with the luggage up those stairs. I'm on oxygen and have a portable unit, hand bag, and carry on luggage. I couldn't believe NO ONE to help me up those horrific stairs!!
