But the town is not all work and no play: Gadsden Riverfest provides 2 days of arts and crafts, shopping, music, food and children's activities in mid-June. The festival is held in Moragne Park on SR 411. Gadsden also is along the corridor of the World's Longest Yard Sale. Beginning on the first Thursday in August, the annual event runs for 4 days and spans five states including Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. Christmas at the Falls is an annual event held late November through late December in Noccalula Falls Park. The event features millions of twinkling lights, the Children's Fantasy Land, a tour through the Pioneer Village and a train ride.

Gadsden Mall, on US 411, contains Belk, Sears and many smaller stores. Nineteen miles north of town on US 431 is the Boaz Outlet complex, a factory outlet mall with stores selling Gap, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Vanity Fair and other name-brand products at discounted prices.
