Tulelake

The center operated from 1942 to 1946 and at its height housed more than 18,000 detainees. Tule Lake became known for residents' resistance to their incarceration and the protests and demonstrations that resulted from overcrowded living conditions. Over time much of the camp's acreage was sold, and buildings were demolished or removed from the site. For tour information, phone (530) 260-0537.

The Tulelake-Butte Valley Fair & Museum of Local History , 800 S.
