The Colorado entrance to Dinosaur National Monument is 90 miles west of Craig on US 40. North of the monument lies Browns Park National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge offers boating, camping and hunting; phone (970) 365-3613.

Chainsaw artists converge on Craig City Park each June to create elaborate masterpieces from cottonwood logs during Whittle the Wood Rendezvous; visitors are welcome to watch the competition progress. Tours of a private Pullman railroad car once owned by Denver banker David Moffat can be arranged through the chamber of commerce.
