Kaufman also created the Water, Anne Sullivan-Helen Keller Monument, on Main Street, depicting the turning point in Helen Keller's life. A young girl born deaf and blind feels water at the pump, and with three extended fingers understands sign language for the letter W and water. The monument is a tribute to her dedicated teacher Anne Sullivan, a longtime resident of Tewksbury.
