Roseau
Roseau City Park, off 11th Avenue S.E. along the Roseau River, is a wooded area offering hiking trails, playgrounds, sand volleyball courts, picnic shelters, a fishing pier and campsites. Hayes Lake State Park and Beltrami Island State Forest, both southeast of town, offer year-round recreational activities. Roseau River Wildlife Area, 60,000 acres of bog and forest land 8 miles north of town, and Roseau Bog Owl Management Unit, 8,960 acres of peat bog covered with black spruce, tamarack and cedar, offer excellent opportunities for wildlife observation.
