The 84-mile-long Billy the Kid National Scenic Byway more than lives up to its name in terms of impressive mountain vistas. Maps and information are available from the scenic byway interpretive center on US 70, next to the Hubbard Museum of the American West.

Events at the Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium, held the second full weekend in October, include cowboy poetry readings, musical performances, roping demonstrations, a chuck wagon cook-off and displays of Western arts and crafts.
