DESTINATION

Woodstock

Three covered bridges can be seen along scenic US 4. The Middle Bridge stands on Union Street; the Taftsville Bridge stands 3 miles east of the village; and the Lincoln Bridge is in West Woodstock, 4 miles west.

Although it is best known for skiing, Woodstock also offers summer recreation, including golf, horseback riding and hiking. Holiday decorations and lights create a magical atmosphere during Woodstock's well-known Wassail Weekend the second weekend in December; the festivities include caroling, carriage rides and a parade with horseback riders in 19th-century garb.
