DESTINATION

Meeteetse

Established in 1880, this is a town where Butch Cassidy once lived and Amelia Earhart and Will Rogers once visited, staying at a local dude ranch. Lying along the scenic portion of SR 120, which runs 83 miles between Cody and Thermopolis, Meeteetse is located in the midst of mountains, rivers and valleys. Grizzly bears, deer, bighorn sheep, elk, moose and mountain lions consider this area the perfect home, presenting great opportunities for wildlife photography. The picturesque surroundings also suit humans who enjoy boating, camping, fishing, water skiing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and hunting.
