Bauhaus Brew Labs

Bauhaus Brew Labs specializes in German lagers with fun twists, but their full lineup is fun, creative, and expansive, from lagers to shandies to pale ales and even seltzers and non-alcoholic beers.

Though the drinks are certainly the main draw, it’s the space that has made this spot a Minneapolis mainstay. The massive outdoor patio is reminiscent of a classic German beer hall, and the brightly colored, industrial-style indoor space somehow seems like Picasso would be right at home.

Bauhaus Brew Labs is located at 1315 Tyler St. NE, on Minneapolis’ northeast side. It’s in the old Crown Iron Works site in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. There’s typically plenty of parking, but if you don’t have a designated driver, utilize the city’s taxi or rideshare services, like Uber and Lyft.

The taproom is open seven days a week, typically until 10 or 11pm. Since this spot is so large, there’s almost never an issue grabbing a seat, though you may need to share a table with a few fellow beer lovers. It’s typically busiest around 7–8pm and during events.

Bauhaus Brew Labs has made their creative space a hangout as much as a place to enjoy good beer. There’s a food truck on-site seven days a week, concerts on the open-air patio when the weather’s nice, games to play with your crew, tasting events, and plenty of space, so you can feel free to wile away the hours at your leisure.
