Bridgetown Cruise Port (Deep Water Harbour)

Bridgetown, Saint George

The first stop for many visitors to Barbados, Bridgetown Cruise Port (Deep Water Harbour) is located just outside of Bridgetown, the country's capital city. Every cruise ship docking at the island anchors here, and there can be up to eight ships in port at the same time.

For many passengers, the Bridgetown Cruise Port is their introduction to the island. Stick to Bridgetown and explore the capital’s historic highlights or head out on a guided tour of the island’s many attractions such as Harrison's Cave, Bathsheba beach, Welchman Hall Gully, and Carlisle Bay; alternatively, take a sightseeing cruise or snorkel trip to see sea turtles and shipwrecks off the Barbados coast. Most tours and shore excursions include round-trip transportation for convenience.

  • Bridgetown Cruise Port terminal offers duty-free shopping and tourist information, as well as bars and cafés.

  • Bridgetown Cruise Port is the port of call for all ships docking in Barbados.

  • Most shore excursions on the island pickup and drop-off at the terminal.

  • Often referred to as “Little England,” Barbados embraces many British traditions, including a love of cricket, afternoon tea, and driving on the left-hand side of the road.

The Bridgetown Cruise Port is located a mile (1.2 kilometers) outside of Bridgetown proper. Visitors can walk into town along the boardwalk or take a shuttle bus or taxi from the port. Most shore excursions and island tours offer port pickup and drop-off.

The Bridgetown Cruise Port is the first stop for many visitors to the island, but the terminal’s shops and cafés are open to anyone who wants to see the huge ships up close. The official currency in Barbados is the Barbados dollar, but US dollars are widely accepted. English is the official language of the island.
