POINT OF INTEREST

EPCOT®

200 Epcot Center Drive, Lake Buena Vista, Florida

EPCOT® is one of the four theme parks that make up Walt Disney World® Resort. The park is divided into four neighborhoods—World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery—which all represent diverse aspects of the world and its people. EPCOT is the place where guests of all ages can explore and discover the enchanting depths under the sea, the far reaches of space, and the wonders of our own world.

At EPCOT, visitors can go sightseeing in Mexico, France, Japan, Italy, China, Germany, and more—all in one day. The park attracts those who are interested in innovation, as well as those who are looking for a surreal way to experience art and culture. Once there, guests can join Chef Remy at Gusteau’s Paris restaurant; sail through Arendelle with Anna, Elsa, and friends on the Frozen Ever After attraction; and watch the next incredible chapter of EPCOT come to life in EPCOT Forever, a nighttime spectacular.

  • EPCOT is open daily, but hours vary by season.
  • Wheelchairs and strollers can be brought from home or rented from all Walt Disney World parks, as well as Disney Springs®.
  • Stroller wagons and strollers larger than 31 inches (79 centimeters) in width and 52 inches (132 centimeters) in length are not permitted.
  • Arriving at the parks early in the day is recommended so as to avoid long attraction lines.
  • To avoid long lines for food and beverages, many people use the My Disney Experience app to place a mobile food order.
  • To visit other parks, use the complimentary network of monorails, buses, and boats, or the Disney Skyliner for those staying at a Disney Resort hotel.

A vast majority of visitors get to the parks by car, though it’s also possible to arrive by Walt Disney World Bus Transportation, Walt Disney World Water Transportation, Walt Disney World Monorail Transportation, or the Disney Skyliner if you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel.

Since the resort is a popular destination among families and their children, the busiest time of year is when school is not in session. So expect long lines when visiting during summer vacation, spring break, winter holidays, and other public holidays when schools are off. If you want to avoid large crowds and long lines, the best time to visit is midweek during the school year.

EPCOT is known for its visually stimulating attractions such as Soarin’ Around the World, a flight simulator that lifts guests on hang gliders for a 180-degree aerial tour that includes visuals of polar bears in Greenland and elephants marching toward Mount Kilimanjaro. Another popular favorite is Test Track® Presented by Chevrolet®, an attraction that lets guests design their own virtual car and then take it for a test drive with speeds reaching up to 65 miles (104.6 kilometers) per hour. Movie fans can also partake in an intergalactic chase through space on the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride, the first Disney coaster to feature a reverse launch.
