Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens

1590 Goodlette-Frank Road, Naples, Florida

Situated within the historic Caribbean Gardens, the Naples Zoo is one of South Florida’s top family-friendly destinations. Home to dozens of exotic animal species (like giraffes and tigers)—and offering immersive habitat areas, educational keeper talks, and other interactive programming—it’s also an important conservation center.

The Caribbean Gardens were founded by a botanist in 1919 for the preservation of tropical plant species; in the 1960s, exotic animals were introduced. Today, the Naples Zoo has since expanded into one of the region’s top wildlife and conservation centers, and the areas to see animals are spread out among its plant displays. Visitors can admire more than 70 animal species here, from big cats and parrots to reptiles and bears. Primate Expedition Cruises are also included in ticket prices, as are keeper talks and alligator feedings.

The Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens is a quick trip from central Naples, making it an accessible destination for visiting families. Tickets can also be booked online in advance of your visit.

  • Most areas of the zoo are wheelchair accessible, including paved pathways and the Safari Canyon theater. Wheelchairs can also be rented for a fee.

  • Admission is discounted for children ages 3–12, and infants are admitted free.

  • Several eateries and dining areas are on-site, and visitors can also bring their own picnics.

  • For souvenirs, the zoo has a gift shop at the entrance/exit.

The Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens is located at 1590 Goodlette Road, several miles north of central Naples and the Naples Airport. It can be reached by car via Tamiami Trail, and free parking is offered on-site. Public transit options are limited, but taxis and rideshare services are additional options.

The Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens is open daily from morning until late afternoon; last admission is 1 hour before closing time. Note that it’s closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, and closes early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The zoo can also close suddenly due to inclement weather, so keep an eye on the forecast.

With its tropical climate and array of parks and beaches, Naples is a popular stop for lovers of the great outdoors. In addition to the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens, be sure to explore the city’s other scenic attractions, including its 16 miles (26 kilometers) of shoreline; the Naples Botanical Gardens; and Everglades National Park, located within day-trip distance.
