POINT OF INTEREST

National Corvette Museum

350 Corvette Drive, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Make a pit stop at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to take in more than six decades of Corvette history. You’ll find over 80 of the classic American cars—rare and concept cars, classic models, and prototypes organized by time period—as well as historic photographs and memorabilia.

Aside from the extensive collection of classic cars, you’ll also find many interactive experiences at the museum. Snap your photo in the driver's seat of a 2015 Stingray, or, for an extra fee, get behind the wheel of a C6 Corvette for a spin around the virtual racetrack. Don’t miss the new Skydome Sinkhole Experience, which recounts the natural disaster that struck the museum in 2014 and how the cars were recovered.

  • Book your admission ahead of time to skip the line at the ticket office.
  • Allow one to two hours to visit the museum—more if you’re a classic-car buff.
  • The museum offers guided tours to learn more about the cars on display.
  • Admission is free for active military and children aged four years and under.

The National Corvette museum is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, about 60 miles (97 kilometers) north of Nashville, Tennessee, and 100 miles (161 kilometers) south of Louisville, Kentucky. Take I-65 to exit 28. There is plenty of free parking at the museum.

The museum is open Wednesday through Monday, and closed on major holidays. Visit on a weekday morning or late afternoon when the museum tends to be quietest.

After enjoying the museum's interactive displays and a bite at the on-site eatery, head over to Motorsports Park racing track. Spectators are welcome, but don't miss your chance to jump in a car for a lap around the track with an experienced driver. The Corvette assembly plant across the road from the National Corvette Museum offers a glimpse at the newest cars to enter the fleet.
