While it has been nearly two centuries since the Rising Sun Tavern sold food or drinks, you can still experience the 18th-century tavern culture. Docents lead you through the rooms and show what it would be like to stay, dine, and drink at the historic establishment. The Rising Sun Tavern is one of four historic sites managed by the Washington Heritage Museums, a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation of Fredericksburg’s 18th-century properties.
