Best Western Braddock Inn

There was mold and peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling. The shower wall was crack and poorly filled in to try to repair it. Our room key was deactivated requiring an exceptionally long walk to the front desk to have it deactivated. There was no elevator and the breakfast room was on the 2nd floor. If you are handicapped this could be an issue as there were no indoor ramps. I had requested a first floor room due to difficulty with steps. We were originally given a 2 nd floor room which I refused. They did find us a first floor room. Attached see pictures of the bathroom. Also had I booked with them directly the room price would have been considerably less.

They are a good hotel. The rooms were nice and the breakfast was hot and delicious. I like the landscaping and the trees and creek at the motel. It was pleasant.

Our room was very worn. Needed new paint. Furniture was beat up and carpet and was not good.

I absolutely was not expecting a 5-star experience, but I was so disappointed. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of none is simply because of the front desk staff when I checked in. She was really friendly, conversational, knowledgeable and helpful. There were also no issues with parking, despite being fully booked for FSU Homecoming weekend. Now, the negative...as soon as I opened the door to my room after almost 3 hrs of travel, I was met with a really bad smell. It was a mixture of body odor and a very active gym on a summer day without A/C. Thankfully, I always travel with Lysol so I sprayed down both beds, all of the pillows, the couch and the floors. The shower was also really dirty, the sink clogged and I called to report it clogged twice and no one ever came to fix it. There were also a bunch of little black bugs on and inside the sink. If all of the other hotels around were not fully booked, I would have requested a refund and went elsewhere. I stayed here years ago and did not have the same experience as this time. But it was enough to make me not want to go back. I'll definitely book early enough so that I can pick a better location.

The hotel was clean but needed many updates. The bathroom door stuck and wouldn’t close. The security door that let us into our floor from the outside, also, stuck to the point that it wouldn’t close completely.
