AAA Diamond Inspector Notes
In a converted 1904 building, this hotel offers unique, upscale accommodations right in the heart of the historic Pioneer Square district. The property offers a convenient location not far from shops, businesses, the Washington State ferries and several sports venues, including T-Mobile Park and Lumen Field. Due to the historic nature of the building, guest rooms come in a variety of shapes and sizes with my favorite being the corner rooms with some having spectacular city and bay views. Looking to take a cool artsy photo, take the elevator to an upper floor and look down the center of the staircase. Smoke free premises. 262 units, some efficiencies. 15 stories, interior corridors. The hotel and staff were excellent. The Bistro restaurant was expensive and limited, with so-so food. Our AAA agent tried several times to book the quoted room rate of about $238, but would only let him book the $358 room rate - disappointing as we were being held hostage by Southwest who said we couldn't change our flight after booking. We booked the flight because 5 rooms were available at the $238 rate, but after booking flight, rate was nowhere to be found. BAIT and SWITCH ???
