Striking architecture greets guests at the eco-friendly hotel that offers top-notch service paired with impressive décor. Thematic rooms offer upscale décor and a balcony, many overlook the atrium. Grounds are accented with colorful and well-manicured landscaping and the impressive atrium lobby houses large rock formations with streams and cascading waterfalls. The streams are stocked with koi fish, alligators and turtles. The vast amount of recreational facilities and amenities is a huge draw for families while the expansive banquet space, which includes a convention center, houses many corporate groups and caters to weddings throughout the year. A virtual, interactive concierge system is placed strategically throughout the property and has digital displays that allow you to access maps, your location, weather conditions, amenities at the resort and more. Over-all the property is amazing, from the lazy river to the indoor garden and lagoon. Beautiful The reason I can’t give them 5 stars was a couple of nickel and dime incidents. 1) $51 a day for Valet is steep 2) The room service menu states a $3 delivery charge, they charged $5. 3) The frozen yogurt place had directions printed on the wall to dispense our own, then they would weigh it and charge by weight. We just wanted a taste and my 5 year old doesn’t eat much, so we dispensed barely a couple of ounces, split between 2 cups. At the register they didn’t weigh the cups and charged us over $7 per cup. I guess it’s a flat rate now but they should have told us, or charged for one cup. Little things made us feel cheated. The actual dolllar amount shouldn’t matter. The rooms were very expensive so they shouldn’t nickel and dime us like that.
We went to Gaylord Palms, myself, my 33 year old son, and my 10 year old granddaughter to see the ICE and other holiday exibits. We absolutely loved everything about the hotel, exibits, staff, room, etc. We were so surprised to see such a beautiful swimming area with two pools, lazy river, water slides, etc. Definitely would recommend. One thing, the restaurants on the premises are EXPENSIVE! and required reservations, which we could not get anyway. So we ate at Wreckers, which is also on premises, and was great.

1. Poolside bars close by 7:00 pm 2. Adult-only areas are sparse 3. Wayfinding is incredibly confusing and the map they give you is not easy to navigate. 4. The Starbucks coffee bar near the bell hop closes by 11:00 am 5. Reserved chairs can't be moved so if you have more or less than than 4 chairs, you are sitting far too close to a stranger.
