Although the staff and hotel was excellent (especially Chris who helped me locate and ship items I accidentally left at the hotel) I felt the $35 (plus tip so around $40) valet parking fee per day was a bit steep. No- non-valet option was offered. Most of the lots in the downtown were about $20-25 so I guess it was in line with the area.

Great location as a base camp for walking tours all around Old Port, good value compared to neighboring hotels. The free breakfast buffet was OK, but we weren't expecting stellar food anyway. Certainly did the trick to fuel up before stating the day and the price was right! If you want something better I'd suggest checking out The Friendly Toast which is located on the 1st floor. Great breakfast/brunch place with a full bar. Room was spotless and staff was friendly. Pool was good. 1st night the pool was heated and easy to jump in. 2nd night seemed like heat had been turned off and water was much less inviting. They should do something about the piped in "music" in the pool area as it's the on-hold recoding for the hotel played on loop. Very odd to have that playing in the background, but at least volume was low so it wasn't too noticeable. Major downside is the only option for on-site parking was valet at $30/night. So figure that into the nightly room rate or look into the many lots or garages nearby to see if you can get a better rate. Street parking is not an option unless you are on top of paying the meter during enforcement times.

The hotel was centrally located and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was also included and there was a wide variety of hot and cold choices.
