The renovated property offers oversize guest rooms, including large open corner suites with great natural light and expanded seating. An outdoor barbecue and a fire pit are available for guests use. The property is near Fort Jackson's main gate and is about 6 miles from the Five Points dining district, the state house and the University of South Carolina campus. This hotel is not inside the base, but it’s still a great location. The Hosts were great and very helpful, the rooms however are not properly cleaned between guests. The first thing I noticed as I went to shower after a long day of travel was that there was dry hair all over the tub as if it was just wiped down after the other guests left. Not at all washed or disinfected! This just made me grossed out but non the less I had my shower shoes and went in. The water did not flow down the drain, it sat there around my ankles! I tried to start positive as this was going to be a four day stay… I found a bag of chick-fil-a with a whole combo inside the microwave! At this point I gave up. I just decided to push through the days I had left, but I was so uncomfortable the whole time.. thinking, what else didn’t they sanitize! Sure enough no one came to do room service, I had to ask for trash bags at the front desk for the bathroom trash. I’m very disappointed in this location. I expected better for being a Hampton inn.
