A dramatically designed lobby with concrete pools offers a magnificent introduction to this cavernous space. Enhanced guest rooms boast floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning downtown views. An architectural icon in Los Angeles for decades, the hotel houses extensive public facilities as well as a variety of shops, businesses and eateries. For a fantastic view of the city, head to the rotating restaurant and lounge located on the 34th floor. Smoke free premises. 1358 units, some two bedrooms. 32-35 stories, interior corridors. I usually have great stays with Westin but my last trip was awful. I checked in just before midnight. The desk clerk acted as if she was sick of living. She informed me that there would be a city-mandated power outage at 12:30 AM lasting between 2 and 3 hours. I went to my room and sure enough, the hotel went dark. And not just the lights -- the water stopped flowing too. In the summer heat, the room was sweltering hot in minutes. Strangely, only the Westin lost power. Nearby buildings and streetlights remained lit. When the power came back on, I realized that the TV didn’t work. The screen said “No signal. Check cable connection”. Oh great, I thought. I left and found another hotel.
It was a fun place to go with my teen! Cool lobby and view from our room.
This is a nice hotel but with extremely limited food choices at the time of my stay in mid-March, 2023. Lobby coffee bar food is expensive and a blueberry jnffin for which they charge $6,00 was stale. They have a very limited room service menu and charged $20.00 to deliver the food. Overall, not recommended for food., with very limited choices in the immmediate area.
