AAA Diamond Inspector Notes
Two cherry trees serve as the centerpiece of this hip Japanese restaurant in Little Italy. The lounge in the rear features a Japanese whisky and sake bar. The dinner menu includes otsumami (“snacks”) such as Australian Wagyu lettuce cups, blistered shishito peppers and braised Mugifuji pork belly. Rolls are named after San Diego neighborhoods. A late-night menu is available from 10 to 11 p.m. (11:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Saturdays). Desserts include house-made ice cream and sorbet.
