This restaurant, taking its name from a benevolent 19th-century tavern owner in Montreal, resembles a modest neighborhood tavern with wood floors, pub chairs, banquette seating and hooks on the wall to hang coats. However, the fine china and cloth tablecloths set an elegant tone for the fine food conceived by accomplished Montreal chefs David McMillan and Frederic Morin. Excellent menu ingredients and fine wines are scribbled on a chalkboard wall menu.
