SCENIC BYWAY

Willamette Scenic Highway

24.0 miles: 0 hours, 25 minutes

Leave the Eugene metro area behind on this scenic stretch of SR 58 between Dexter and Oakridge. You’ll follow the Middle Fork of the Willamette River—past postcard-worthy views of shimmering Dexter Lake and Lookout Point Lake—into Willamette National Forest. The route ends at the foothills of the Cascade Range in Oakridge, a city known for mountain biking.

Forested mountains, calm reservoirs and a historic covered bridge—the views along Willamette Scenic Highway offer a peaceful respite far from the city. Soak up the scenery as you pass Dexter Lake, where the decommissioned Lowell Covered Bridge is a focal point. SR 58 follows Lookout Point Lake for more than 10 miles before crossing the Willamette River into Oakridge.
