Rocky coastlines, seaside cliffs, deep green valleys and fertile inland terrain form this richly diverse island. Flanked by Pailolo Channel to the south and Molokai Forest Reserve to the north, Halawa Valley Scenic Road (SR 450) skirts along Molokai’s unspoiled, eastern coast and climbs lofty cliffs to a hidden, tropical valley, before descending to the beach.

Halawa Valley Scenic Road (SR 450) begins with soaring tropical slopes and vast, sapphire seascapes. Water occasionally splashing across the narrow road heightens the drama. The byway turns from the coast and ascends sea cliffs into a tropical forest, then steeply descends into lush Halawa Valley. Pullouts offer spectacular views of cliffs, islands and waterfalls.
