View on Map
61.9 miles: 1 hours, 23 minutes
The two-lane Burgeo Scenic Highway (PR 480) traverses vast stretches of subarctic tundra and boreal forests. Numerous bodies of beautiful, clear water—some of which are framed by trees—are sprinkled throughout. Some of these brooks, ponds and streams are extremely small and lie right alongside the road, and others stretch to the horizon.

The 62-mile Burgeo Scenic Highway (PR 480) encompasses a mostly undeveloped section of Newfoundland except for the coastal town of Burgeo. The byway features barren areas of subarctic tundra as well as sections of lush boreal forests and marshlands. Rocky outcroppings and boulders are strewn throughout the route.
