The vibrant pine and hardwood trees that surround this enjoyable stretch of PR 1 climb the rolling mountain range creating a stunning panoramic view. At the northern side of the route, the trees open into lush green fields and farmland.
The byway crosses rolling, wooded terrain that is west of the Bay of Fundy coastline. Pine and hardwood trees line the sides of PR 1 and densely cover the paralleling mountain ranges. In Sussex, at the northern end of the route, the trees thin out making way for the dairies for which this village is known.
