Enter the preserved lands of the Whiteshell Provincial Park on Provincial Trunk Highway 44 (PR 44), just south of Rennie, and enjoy the scenery as the two-lane highway winds east and south toward West Hawk Lake. The park features nearly 2,800 kilometers of boreal forest with numerous lakes and rivers.

This drive (PR 44) begins near the entrance to Alfred Hole Goose Sanctuary and Visitor Centre, where you can see geese in summer and fall. Enjoy views of forest, grassy meadows, wildflowers and exposed granite ridges of Whiteshell Provincial Park. Watch for climbers on the cliffs across from the glacier-carved Lily Pond. West Hawk Lake, created by a meteor, is popular for boating and scuba diving.
