Aargau

In the Aargau region of northern Switzerland, you can discover verdant meadows, thermal spas and hot springs and charming communities by going on guided biking and hiking excursions. Beautiful painted eaves and gables dating back to the 16th century can be found within Aarau.

Bern

Stroll through the historic streets of Bern, the capital city of Switzerland, to admire the ornate fountains and abundant boutiques and markets that the city has to offer. Nearby Interlaken is the adventure capital of Switzerland, while the ski resort town of Gstaad is known for its shopping and skiing opportunities.

Geneva

Geneva is a metropolis often referred to as the "capital of peace." It serves as the location of the European seat of the United Nations as well as the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). It’s well worth a visit due to the city's many museums, shops and promenades along the lake.

Graubünden

Graubünden is Switzerland's largest and most diverse canton (state). It is particularly lauded for its winter sports and is home to the illustrious ski resort town of St. Moritz, which is frequented by the rich and famous. Visitors often come during the summer months to hike and ride mountain bikes. This area captivates for good reason. You can experience the beautiful landscapes of Switzerland via the Bernina Express train, or you can go to Chur, one of the oldest towns in Switzerland.

Jungfrau Region

A significant portion of Switzerland is in the Jungfrau Region, which is well-known for its ski resorts, spas and upscale shopping. The town of Grindelwald, which can be found in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland, is a common starting point for trips to the Jungfrau Region. Jura and the Three-Lakes Region

The city of Neuchatel in the Jura and the Three-Lakes region of Switzerland is a starting point for some spectacular rail journeys. Historical and cultural amenities are abundant, with castles, wine tastings and even an Absinthe Trail, which leads bicyclists to absinthe-inspired shops, museums and local restaurants.

Lake Geneva

This historic region, which takes its name from one of the largest lakes in Europe, is home to a number of picturesque towns along the shores of the lake, including Bourg en Lavaux, Montreaux and Lausanne. Take a scenic drive along the French bank of the lake to visit the spa town of Evian-les-Bains, well-known for the natural mineral water it produces, or go for a cruise on the lake for views of the Château de Chillon (Chillon Castle), said to be one of the most photographed castles in the world.

Lake Lucerne

The region around Lake Lucerne is a must-see destination that is surrounded by stunning mountain peaks. It is known as the Gateway to Central Switzerland. Lucerne, also called the "Swiss Paradise on the Lake," is the beginning and ending point for many guided tours. Stroll through the charming alleyways of Old Town to take in the plazas, promenades and bridges that the neighborhood has to offer. The covered Chapel Bridge in Lucerne is Europe’s oldest wooden bridge, constructed in 1333. The bridge is adorned with stunning paintings that detail the history of the city.

Ticino

The sunny climate and laid-back vibe of the Mediterranean can be found throughout Switzerland's Ticino region, which is home to Italian speakers. Bellinzona features vineyards and castles, both of which are excellent places to visit after you've finished unwinding in the thermal baths of Lugano, Switzerland's third-largest lake. Hike through the mountains to reach open alpine meadows and waterfalls that are all to yourself and create lasting memories of your trip.

Valais

The Valais region features excellent conditions for skiing, hiking and a variety of other outdoor activities. Zermatt is a pedestrian-friendly resort town located in the Valais region of Switzerland. This region is known for its glaciers, vineyards, valleys and peaks. Visit the Matterhorn Museum in Zermatt to learn about one of the most famous mountains in Europe, or hop aboard the Glacier Express for a scenic train journey across the Swiss Alps. There are a number of glaciers to see, including the Aletsch Glacier, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest glacier found in the Alps. It's a major win for any bucket list!
