Fort Point, at Fort Point Lighthouse Park, was built in the 1700s. One of its cairns commemorates the arrival of Champlain while another honors Liverpool's privateers. Visitors can climb the stairs of the park's 1855 lighthouse, which also houses an interpretive center.
