DESTINATION

Watson Lake

Watson Lake is known as the Sign Post Forest for its signpost collection that was begun by a homesick soldier during construction of the Alaska Highway in 1942. Over the years, tourists have continued adding signs showing the names of their hometowns, and now the collection includes more than 70,000 signs.

From Watson Lake the historic Robert Campbell Highway loops north and west through the wilderness of southeastern Yukon.
