Eureka Springs

Modern medicine caused a drastic decline in the use of the springs, but recreational and artistic businesses have kept the city alive. Eureka Springs offers a variety of activities that cater to both body and mind. Music shows abound throughout the year. The annual Eagle Watch, the third weekend in October, draws thousands of visitors from a four-state region.

Self-guiding Tours

Elegant Victorian houses built at the turn of the 20th century can be seen in the city's historic district. A walking trails map is available from the visitor center. Additional maps and brochures of the Eureka Springs area also are available.

Shopping

A European-style farmers market is held Tues. and Thurs. 7-noon, Apr.-Nov., in a parking lot at the Village of Pine Mountain, 1 mile north at 516 Village Circle Dr. on SR 62E. Village of Pine Mountain is a Victorian-style shopping and entertainment complex with stores that specialize in local crafts. About 125 gift shops and restaurants are concentrated in the historic downtown district near the intersection of SRs 62 and 23N/Main Street.
