DESTINATION

Eatonville

The town celebrates its most well-known resident annually with the Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts and Humanities, also known as the ZORA! Festival, held in late January. The festival features entertainment by well-known gospel, R & B, Latin, spoken word and jazz artists such as Ashford & Simpson and the Ramsey Lewis Trio. African American culture also is explored through visual art exhibitions and vendors, public forums and panel discussions.

Self-guiding tours:

Brochures, outlining historic places to see on Eatonville's Heritage Trail, are available at the Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine Arts.
