Though the Gulf and Ship Island Railroad, riverboats, grist mill and saw mills along the Tallahatchie River are no longer the town's economic drivers, the legacy of the railroad can be seen in the Tanglefoot Trail, a 43.6-mile Rail-to-Trail path spanning three counties from New Albany south to Houston.
