Florham Park

The College of St. Elizabeth, a Catholic liberal arts college founded in Morris County in 1899, is said to be the oldest women's college in the state. The 200-acre campus is partially in the town of Convent Station; phone (973) 290-4000.

Shared by the town of Madison, the Florham-Madison campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University occupies 187 acres on the site of the former Twombly estate. The 100-room Twombly Mansion, begun in 1893 and completed in 1896, is a replica of one wing of Hampton Court in England. The manor house serves as a campus administration building. Tours of the campus are available by appointment; phone (973) 443-8500.

The Little Red Schoolhouse, Ridgedale Avenue and Columbia Turnpike, was built in 1866 and used as a school until 1914. The schoolhouse is now a museum operated by the Florham Park Historical Society; phone (973) 377-3713.
