After the completion of the mission church, the Spanish government recognized the pueblo as one of the largest Keresan pueblos. Completed in 1699, the Mission of the Pueblo of Laguna is a long, narrow stone structure notable for its bright and unusual interior design.
The pueblo can be visited 8-4:30 weekdays; weekend religious ceremonies are closed to the public. Photographing, sketching, painting or recording pueblo ceremonies is not permitted.
