About Ada

Ada is the seat of Pontotoc County, an area known for oil and gas production as well as cattle raising. Byrd's Mill Spring, south on Cradduck Road following signs to Fittstown, is a popular picnicking site. Opportunities for water skiing and boating are available at Konawa Lake.

Wintersmith Park, on E. 18th Street, has walking trails, a small zoo, a miniature golf course, children's rides, horseshoe pits and a swimming pool. The park contains a restored one-room schoolhouse built in 1907; it is furnished with such items as a potbellied stove and desks that have inkwells.
