Mineral Point
Their Cornish heritage survives in the town's stone houses, colorful stories and traditional pasties (PAST-ees), saffron cakes and tea biscuits. Folklore claims the name of Shake Rag Street stems from the Cornish wives' custom of waving rags to summon their men working on the opposite hillside.
Mineral Point has become a center for the arts, with some of the many restored buildings now home to working art studios and galleries and a Center for the Arts that offers classes year-round.
