The Bronx
The Bronx lays claim to more parkland than any other borough and is home to the sprawling grounds of the New York Botanical Garden and the promenades and pavilions of Orchard Beach. Feeling nautical? The community of City Island in Long Island Sound has the look and feel of a New England fishing village. No trip would be complete without a day at the Wildlife Conservation Society's Bronx Zoo , reputedly the largest urban zoo in the country featuring more than 4,000 animals. And then there are some who see a trip to the Bronx as a pilgrimage to the mecca of baseball, Yankee Stadium, and for whom an afternoon spent with the “Bronx Bombers” is as close to perfect as a day can be.
