There are more than 1,000 miles of trails and 1,600 miles of forest roads. Continental Divide National Scenic Trail passes through the forest. Ten campgrounds, picnic grounds, good hunting and fishing, historic sites, wilderness areas and several ghost towns are among the forest's attractions.
