Thousand Islands
The best way to see the islands is to take a boat tour offered by the boat lines described under Alexandria Bay and Clayton. Between the spans of the Thousand Islands Bridge is the 1000 Islands Tower.
The Thousand Islands embrace the Thousand Islands National Park, which consists of 21 widely scattered units in the St. Lawrence River between Kingston and Brockville, Ontario, and a 96-acre (39-hectare) area at Mallorytown Landing on the mainland. Mallorytown Landing contains the park headquarters, picnic areas, a children's play area and a beach. A visitor center has displays about the natural and cultural history and settlement of the Thousand Islands region.
Access to the park by private vehicle is available only at the Mallorytown Landing entrance. Day use facilities are open Victoria Day weekend through the second Monday in October.
