St. Francis National Forest

Developed recreation areas are at 625-acre Bear Creek Lake, 8 miles south of Marianna on SR 44, and at 420-acre Storm Creek Lake, 6 miles north of West Helena on SR 44. The Mississippi River State Park visitor center is open daily 8-5; closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Christmas Eve hours are 8-noon.
