DESTINATION

Bucks County

The narrow, winding streets of Doylestown, once an overnight stagecoach stop between Philadelphia and Easton, capture Bucks County's historic charm, as do Fallsington and Washington Crossing Historic Park.

The Delaware Canal, on which construction was begun in 1817, flows through New Hope, an artists' and writers' colony settled along the river. New Hope is known for its natural settings, book and antiques shops, art galleries and cafés on the banks of both the river and the canal. The town also is home to one of the nation's oldest and most famous summer theaters, the Bucks County Playhouse; phone (215) 862-2121.

Some places and towns in Bucks County are Bensalem, Bristol, Buckingham, Chalfont, Doylestown, Fairless Hills, Feasterville, Lahaska, Lambertville, Langhorne, Levittown, Morrisville, New Hope, Newtown, Quakertown, Trevose, Warrington, Washington Crossing Historic Park and Yardley.
