The property is close to the medical center and is geared for business travelers. Amenities like the electronic GO board give vital area information. Quiet, spacious rooms offer comfortable beds. Smoke free premises. 136 units. 5 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

The desk clerk applied our AAA discount but said that we should have booked through Marriott because they can refund our money through the chain but not through the third=party service. Bad sign. On the counter was a letter from the manager apologizing that the air conditoners could not be set lower than 68 degrees. That wouldn't be a problem if the AC could reach, say, 74 degrees and low humidity. Ours couldn't. They cycled off and on but the humidity in the room did not improve until the morning of departure. The rooms were dark, humid and musty after running ACs night and day. Carpets and furnishings were damp and uncomfortable. Towels never dried although for an extended stay they are not changed. When we arrived at our next hotel, I had to air out my clothes because they were damp. Bathroom vent was crusted with dust. Cold water was tepid. Stove needs cleaning. Kitchen counter was crusted with glop. Recycles were not removed after last guest. Back of sofa was torn. Bathroom had no bar soap for sink. On request, desk clerk told me body wash was in the tub. I said we wanted to wash our hands in the sink. She dug out a bar from her counter, shrugged, and said that's all. Coffee, cookies, and lemon water at check-in were good. Lobby coffee the next day was day-old and cold. Coffee at the breakfast area was fresh but the rest of the offerings were unappealing. The location in a quiet area adjacent to a park is private, dark, and quiet. The town is great for walking and biking but there are no stores or restaurants nearby. This circa-1980s facility seriously needs an upgrade the entrance bypasses the lobby, which is often unsupervised. Direct access to the guest areas is a security rishk. We paid for and stayed for two nights, mostly to avoid the hassle. We moved out and spent the rest of our time in town at a rival chain.

Unable to keep reservations due to family member being tested positive for COVID. I was not able to cancel reservations in time and was charged for the stay by Courtyard. Not a happy camper!
