Stunning hotel in a very old and elaborate palace. It was such a pleasure to walk around the hotel and see the artistic details and finishes. The restaurant with its outdoor covered area and the wonderful bar/cocktail lounge were lovely and old-worldly. The service was impeccable and the servers skilled. Our room was a bit old, but we had a lovely long balcony. The hotel is exactly in the heart of old Palermo. We walked out the front entrance and were right in the heart of the action. The only problem was that we had a rental car, but the central area is pedestrian-only. We couldn't use the car the entire time, and we had failed to advance book tours to sites outside of Palermo. We should have taken a taxi from the airport and then started the rental the day we were leaving Palermo. And book day trips in advance. They were all booked when we went to the tour offices.
